Realistic human characters for extraordinary realtime simulation
DI-Guy is COTS software for adding remarkable life-like humans to realtime simulation.
Visualization
DI-Guy SDK lets you embed realistic characters in existing simulations. Or use our DI-Guy Scenario application to service all your 3D visualization needs.
Construction
Use DI-Guy AI, DI-Guy Scenario, and DI-Guy SDK to control your characters.

DI-Guy comes with everything you need to generate compelling human performances.
Models
DI-Guy comes complete with hundreds of characters from all walks of life including:
- Men, women, and children with a wide range of cultural appearances.
- Soldiers wearing a wide range of different uniforms and carrying a complete array of modern weaponry and equipment.
- Flight Deck Crew for simulating aircraft landing and takeoff procedures.
- Policemen, firemen, hazmat specialists, and victims for simulating emergency response.
- Vehicles, horses, buildings, props, - even chickens! Everything you need to create a complete simulation.
Motions
DI-Guy ships with thousands of motions for modeling human behavior. Not only are the motions realistic (they are derived from live motion capture), DI-Guy makes sure that the transitions between the motions are realistic and smooth for unparalleled realism.
API
DI-Guy comes with an extensive API for controlling all aspects of your characters.
Authoring
DI-Guy gives the author multiple methods for controlling their characters. DI-Guy is designed to make controlling characters easy.
Artificial Intelligence
Use DI-Guy AI to create autonomous characters that behave realistically in your environment. Perfect for creating crowds and scenarios when you need hundreds or thousands of characters.
Ten Reasons to use DI-Guy
- DI-Guy is open and customizable.
- DI-Guy works on Windows and Linux.
- DI-Guy works with just about any renderer -- OpenGL, OSG, DirectX and Vega Prime right out of the box...or customize DI-Guy to your renderer (e.g. - Raydon's BARE, Rockwell Collins' EPX, Unreal, Quantum3D's Mantis, etc.).
- DI-Guy is the de-facto standard in the VizSim community.
- We take care of the motion capture, so realistic motions are at your fingertips.
- You always have smooth, realistic transition motions with DI-Guy.
- Aiming, gazing, speaking, pointing, gesturing -- with DI-Guy you can layer motion content to create a unique performance.

- You are part of a wider DI-Guy community, leveraging new features and content we are constantly introducing.
We hope you'll take the time to familiarize yourself with DI-Guy, once you do, you'll realize DI-Guy is the only solution you'll need for all your Human Simulation needs.
News
Apr 1, 2009 - DI-Guy 10 for Windows is released! DI-Guy 10 features Skinned Character appearances and AI Minds. The addition of skinned characters, which work with OpenGL, OSG, and the graphics API, result in our best human visuals yet. The AI Minds are the capstone of the powerful DI-Guy Behavior Pyramid which offers human simulation authors multiple powerful methods for controlling characters. Coming very soon will be DI-Guy 10 for Linux, which we plan to support gcc 4.3 and have our first 64-bit solution.
Dec 18, 2008 - We're back from I/ITSEC 2008, it was an outstanding show. Thanks to all our customers, partners, and people interested in Human Simulation for stopping by and seeing the latest with DI-Guy. Our hottest demo was Sadr City where a vibrant but volatile neighborhood filled with over 500 civilians, insurgents, and friendly forces showcased the breadth of DI-Guy content and DI-Guy AI. The characters were able to simulate all sorts of assaults, defenses, protests, calls to prayer, IED plants, helicopter evacs, molotov cocktail riots, and even go eat at the local fruit stand. In addition, people were excited to see our latest skinned character solution and commented on their realistic appearances and intelligence. Check back here next week for lots more images of these demos in action.
